About
A narrow remit, on purpose.
A small company doing one thing: choosing Chinese suppliers that North American labs can actually use, and standing behind the choice.
01The gap
Capability is there. Judgement is not.
Chinese contract laboratories and reagent manufacturers have improved substantially over the past decade, and a meaningful share of global sequencing and reagent capacity now sits there. That much is not controversial.
What a North American research group lacks is any practical way to separate a capable supplier from a marginal one. The marketing reads identically. Reference customers cannot be called. The technical conversation runs through a sales channel, in a second language, across a fourteen-hour time difference — and the first real evidence arrives only after the samples are gone.
02Technical basis
What the assessment rests on.
Technical assessment is carried out by a specialist with more than a decade in life-science instrumentation and biopharmaceutical analysis: protein characterization, particle and formulation analysis, and the routine work of testing an analytical platform against what its vendor claims for it. That has been done from inside the Chinese supplier market, in Mandarin and in English.
That background is in analytical instrumentation rather than in genomics. It still applies, because judging whether a body of data supports the claim attached to it is largely the same skill across assays — the questions about controls, replicates, dynamic range, and what a figure has been cropped to hide do not change. Where a project needs genomics expertise beyond that, we say so instead of improvising.
03The partner lab
Who actually runs the samples.
Sequencing and library preparation are carried out by Beijing BestopCell Co., Ltd. We are not a laboratory and we do not pretend otherwise; what we do is choose the laboratory, read its data, and stay accountable for that choice.

04Principles
How we intend to operate.
- No introduction without data. A supplier unwilling to share comparable raw data does not get introduced, whatever the margin on it would have been.
- Limits stated up front. Regulatory, shipping, and turnaround constraints belong in the first conversation, not in month three.
- Assessment stays separable. Technical review can be commissioned on its own, including on suppliers we have no commercial relationship with.
